Nongae Gliding Site was named to acknowledge that Jangsu-gun has the house and shrine of Uiam Ju Nongae, who died for the country during the Japanese invasion in 1592. Nongae Gliding Site is situated in the basin surrounded by towering mountains, providing the ideal conditions for paragliding. With a secured altitude, long-distance distance flight is available toward Jirisan Mountain to the south and Deogyusan Mountain to the east. It is 5.6km by car to the landing site, Jangsu Hannuri Stadium grass field, allowing for a convenient 10 minute-drive. Neighboring mountains are Mabongsan (724m), Sadubong (1,014m), Palgongsan (1,151m), Jangansan (1,237m), Namdeogyusan (1,507m) and Jirisan (1,915m).
